Day 2: Walt Disney Studios and Disney Village
We got up around 7.30 as we had a breakfast ticket for 8.15 and got ready for the day, packed up our stuff and went for breakfast. We had to wait quite a while to get in which makes me wonder about the efficiency of the breakfast times anyway (oh glorious VIP breakfast from the summer, how I miss thee!) O_o
But breakfast buffet was awesome and full of yummy things so I forgive them :)
I do NOT forgive them for playing the FRENCH version of the Nightmare before Christmas soundtrack though, that is just pure blasphemy.
After breakfast we got everything out of the room and into the car and we went back via the walkway to the Studios Park. I really like the walkway, it’s very well done and nice to walk along. Especially in autumn with all the leaves being so prettily colored!
We first hopped into a couple of shops in Disney Village to see what they had and to take photos and then we arrived at the Studios Guest Relations just after 10.
We were totally SHOCKED at GR. Not because anything went wrong but because the CM serving us was not only efficient and friendly but she was also really well organised and knew EXACTLY what she was doing. Such a sharp contrast to the main GR at the Disneyland Park! Why can’t they have CMs like her everywhere in both parks????
Anyway, we managed to get Charlotte’s entry ticket without any glitch (HUZZAH!) and to get into the park.
We saw Minnie on the Place des Fréres Lumières (the main entrance square) so we went to pose with her. Her attendant was super nice when I showed her my disability card. Seriously both her and Minnie were AWESOME!
We went to check the big sign with all the waiting times and Sam nearly had an aneurism when he saw the waiting times for Toy Story Playland. He then went and got a fastpass for himself for Tower (as neither Charlotte or I ride that) and fastpasses for Aerosmith Coaster for him and Charlotte.
Seeing we all wanted to do Studios Tram Tour we went on that first
and then continued on the way to Toy Story Playland.
Before we went into TSP we went to get some drinks, which took FOREVER because there were the German equivalent of chavs in front of us who kept on changing their order every 5 seconds which made everything go sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooow.
But we got our drinks and managed to wander into the completely and utterly overcrowed and drowned in waiting lines Toy Story Playland.
Queue for Parachute drop: 75 minutes.
Queue for RC racer: 95 minutes.
Queue for Zig Zag Spin: 45 minutes.
Thankfully I can ride Slinky Dog Zig Zag Spin so we managed to go on that using my disability pass. It was seriously such a hilarious ride :) There’s NOTHING to it but it was just SO funny! We had a great time riding it, all 2 minutes that it lasts haha.
And we had a great time posing with Rex too ^__^
We explored the toy shop (which is sad and tiny really) and then went into Toon Studio. Charlotte noticed Buzz doing meet and greets in his new area (Mickey was out in his too but we just wanted Buzz) so we showed the CM my disability pass and waited patiently for our turn.
Buzz’ attendant was SUPER sweet too. Seriously the Studios CMs are very often the nicest people (there’s super nice ones in the other park too, but the Studios seem to have more of them).
Buzz wasn’t signing autograph but his CM had an autograph stamp she used. I had never seen that before so I asked for one in my notebook, which she was happy to give me ^__^
Neither myself or Charlotte had seen Cinémagique and Sam recommended it (and wanted to see it again) so we went to see that show. Before going in we saw lots of characters out so we flopped down on some stairs to see if some would come out that weren’t mobbed. And we totally lucked out on Stitch! Who was super sweet!
Then we actually went into Cinémagique which was an AWESOME show.
It was time for Aerosmith Coaster afterwards so Sam and Charlotte went to ride that and I waited for them in Blockbuster Café and looked at pictures on Charlotte’s SLR ^__^
After all that fun in the Studios we were really hungry and as usual the Studios were rubbish with food availability so we went into Disney Village to eat at Annette’s.
Where some retard stole my good black Lisbeth Dahl umbrella :’( I’m pretty sad about that because that one was my favourite, but at the same time I’m glad I didn’t have any of my limited edition umbrellas with me because this one at least can be replaced. Too bad I didn’t take the Hema one along with me like I first considered doing as that one is way cheaper but hey. I hope karma gets back to the thief in cruel and unusual ways.
And then went to the Disneyland Park so Sam and I quickly could get some Halloween merchandise. I got a Halloween witch Minnie for Rosa (my boyfriend's grandmother and our neighbour, who loves minnie mouse) and Sam got the Halloween cd, lantern and jack o' lantern with lights.
We heard from Dan and Jon where they were, so we went back to the Studios to say goodbye as they were leaving for the ferry in Dunkerque. They gove me a bag full of truly AWESOME AND AMAZING stuff! Thanks guys!
Seeing we wanted to go shopping and already were in the Village we went and bought stuff. We all got some (Christmas) presents for family and then went back to the car to drive home.
