October pin buys

Some enamel to brighten up outfits
I recently started collecting enamel pins to wear with my outfits. I'm not sure how many more I'll buy (probably a few more) and this month I've mostly gotten cats. Admittedly, the mummy dog from that set is my best friend Charlotte's (I got the mummy pets set, she got the sprouts set, and next time we see each other we'll exchange ours ^^), but I've been wearing it a bit (sorry Charlotte!). The four eyed cat one was a Halloween present from Bert, it came just in time for Halloween, so I'm wearing it today :D.

Halloween decorations

This is Halloween, this is Halloween, Halloween, Halloween...
I stopped by the Antwerp Flying Tiger 2 days after the release of this year's Halloween collection, so there were still tons of things in stock. I got a whole bunch of stuff, a lot of disposable tableware (plates, cups) but also these three, which were all the grand total of 1 (the plastic spiderweb bowl) and 2 (the light up decorations) euro each. How good is that?! I will probably leave these out all year round to be honest, incorporated left and right into our home.

Fave Yves Rocher products of October

Clean skin is awesome
I've been using this for over a year I think, but I've just opened up a new bottle this month. This stuff lasts for a long, long time, which is aweome. It's essentially a gel cleanser you have to foam up with water in your palms and then use to wash your wet face. I think it does a good job, my skin is certainy clearer with it. It's not miraculously giving me perfect skin, but its definitely helping me maintain skin that is relatively blemish free, and that's good enough for me. Plus, it's affordably and it doesn't further dry out my already dry skin.

No itchy dry skin for me!
I used to use Weleda body lotion with pomegranate, and whilst I love that stuff, I got this one for free at Yves Rocher ages ago. I didn't open it up earlier, because I wanted to finish my bottle of Weleda first and then give this a try. I figured that if I didn't like it, I could pass it along to a friend, and buy another bottle of Weleda. BUT: I really love this. I find that it's just as good as the Weleda one, and as this is a little cheaper. My skin also soaks this one up much better, so I think that for as long as Yves Rocher makes it, I'll stick with this. It is a perfumed lotion though, and whilst this does not bother me (I think it smells really nice), it's probably something to watch out for if you've got very sensitive skin (my skin is mostly sensitive in my face, but not really on the rest of my body).

Make-up begone!
I used to use the regular Pur Blueuet, which I absolutely ADORED. Right up to the point where I ran out and discovered (always read the ingredients people) that they have added ...parabens. To which I am super allergic. Luckily I got a sample of this version for sensitive eyes during day of the customer last month, so I could just use this to clean make-up off my face. It's really lush, and feels really nice, so I ended up buying a regular sized bottle of this stuff. Sadly, it does NOTHING for removing waterproof mascara. I've started using organic olive oil to get rid of that, because I have that in the kitchen anyway. I also don't use waterproof mascara enough to justify getting a separate remover, so olive oil will serve me just fine for that.

Thank you Snazaroo!

Fake gore is your friend
Like I said before, there are better SFX kits out there. But I'm allergic to methylparaben, so literally 99% of the wax and fake blood out there is stuff I can't use. So yeah, I got this Snazaroo kit, which is paraben free. I had fun mucking around with this kit this month, so I'm adding it to this month's faves anyway.
Please note that there are still a lot of the old SFX kits out there, which do include parabens. So if you come across one in a store, make sure to check the ingredient list. If you order directly from Snazaroo you will of course get the paraben free one. Same story with their spirit gum (which can be removed with water, bonus points for that).

Weleda skin food

It may be Halloween, but I'm not looking like Rudolph!
Yes, I know, I've gone over this product last month, too. BUT this month I got pretty ill (still not completely over it) and basically, I pretty much went through two boxes of Kleenex Balsam in the same amount of days. Under normal circumstance this would have left me looking like the human equivalent of Rudolph the red nosed reindeer, but because I liberally applied skin food to all the areas suffering from repeated nose blowing: nothing. So, this stuff may smell a little funny (you get used to it), but it really IS a life saver.

The horror, the horror
Well no, but it says horror on my bag, so yeah. I've wanted a bat bag for absolute years, but never found one that was either to my liking, or affordable (you'd be suprised how ridiculously expensive these things an be!). Until this year when Swimmer released this one. It also comes in black with a red bow, but I actually like the white one (which is more like a sparkly champaign with brass detailing print and stitching) a lot more, it is a little more wearable (in as far as a bat bag is ever wearable outside of Goth parties and the month of October). In any case, I love it. It's not the best quality in the world, but I figure that if I take good care of it, and don't use it too much, I'll enjoy using it for many more years, and that's good enough for me. I love the look of it in any case :D.

I couldn't find a good spot in the house to photograph the bag, which is why I'm using the stock photo, so have a picture of an outfit with the bag in it :)

Added note: where possible I link to English language (UK) websites in the summary, even when I bought the product in a Belgian store, or via a Dutch language website. So if you don't live in the UK, simply google for your country's website alternative. Most stores I buy from have one.
Eventually these links may expire when a company discontinues a product, but at the time this post goes live, they *should* all be good.

Faves of the last couple of months:

I have bought a ton of skin care stuff recently. The same area of my face keeps breaking out. I can't stand it. I might have to break down and go see a doctor for prescription skin creams again. I'm too old for this!

On that note, part of my skin care haul was Innisfree toner and lotion. Oh, and CosRX sun screen. So far, I'm loving them. Everything seems to work fairly well except for the part of my face that refuses to calm down.

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that one part of your skin is still acting up XD
Hopefully you'll be able to get it calmed down without having to resort to seeing a dermatologist/doctor!
