[feeling |annoyedannoyed]

Saturday Made in Asia was SOOOOO much more crowded, to the point where it was really quite unpleasant. It seems that, and I also mentioned this in my review on The Gatehouse, that the organisation seems to get into smaller halls every year rather than move into a bigger one, which the event clearly needs.

With Lunie

First thing we did when we got in was finding the 8tea5 stand. But sadly they had brought none of the teas I like/wanted to try :(

So we went to visit lunie_chan's LunieShop stand because I wanted to say hello to my friend, try some of the hats and hang out to take photos for the BCM MiA snap page. Because I knew that a lot of the stylish people and other friends & people I know would flock there, and I was right :D

Considering we had played around with the Creativa photobooth the day before, and because I just really love photobooths, we went to use the MiA one this time :)
We had to wait a little because they needed to refill the printer paper and there was a group in front of us who did two photos.
And then some douche tried to cut in before us, and simply left when I pointed out that it was our turn. Apparently he didn't feel like waiting for his turn.

photobooth time!

We found David and Steph, who had just arrived, and showed them where the backstage was. Where we found Trinh, who I then gave her bag of chocolate easter eggs, before we went back to wander around some more :)

When I bumped into Caroline again (we had passed each other on a mega crowded lane and thus couldn't stop to talk) and asked to take her photo I accidently lost Bert, oops.

Caroline

So I went to the info point because it's pretty good to find people again, even when it's crowded.

But it turned out that Bert was in the Patio so I went there instead. Thankfully he's so tall, so I could find him even though there was barely no light.

The presentation of the cosplay competition was absolutely lousy. It was only in French even though Brussels is a bi-lingual city and actually organisations are legally obliged to have everything bilingual, but MiA couldn't care less about the Flemish visitors.
Also, they were using these ridiculous small boxes for that big old hall, so if you were towards the back you could barely understand what people on the stage were saying because the sound was THAT bad.
And then they decided to just go over time for about 30 minutes, causing a massive delay in the rest of the program.
Seriously, it was just one crap thing stacked on another.

Also, can someone please explain to me why these skits are generally out of character dances that have little or nothing to do with the character the person is cosplaying? Most of them are just doing a crap video clip style, often slutty, dance. Whatever happened to doing something that is actually IN character?

cosplay competition already over time

Because it kept on going ON and ON, I decided to go say goodbye to Lunie.
Of course, fooling around with my Nerf had to happen :)

Don't piss off Lunie!

Bert had managed to get to right in front of the stage after the cosplay competition, and by miracle there was still room next to him. Marjan and Kelly were there too, but Kelly went to sneak in at a different spot near the stage to get photos from a different angle before the gig started.

The conference that was programmed between the cosplay competition and the concert was so badly done, I hardly have words. It was boring, it was basically a guy doing a live interview, and not a particularly well researched one considering the questions he was asking and basically the audience was uninterested to the point of bored to tears. 98%, at least, of the audience were just people waiting for ADAMS or because the Patio was one of the few places where they could actually sit down in the first place.
And of course, once again, it was only in French, which is just disgusting and shameful.
I understand French fine (I'm slow at speaking it and my writing is appalling but I understand it fine) but my friends and husband had zero clue what was going in.

I mean, seriously, this just isn't ok.

The incredibly badly done conference at MiA6 - Saturday

All of this bullshit caused ADAMS to have to soundcheck whilst the crowd was already there, but kudos to them, they took it all in their stride.

ADAMS themselves were really rather good :)
There'll be a review in the next BCM :)

The fangirls, however, were just special kinds of what the fuck. Of course there were several fans that were normal and lovely people, obviously, but they were vastly overshadowed by the crazy, hysterical ones that clearly need urgent mental help.
Of course, MiA had NO security there for crowd control and no safety zone, so these crazy bitches could easily keep on shoving others into the stage, pushing them in the back to try to force them away.
And it wasn't just that kind of unsafe behaviour, there was the general bitchiness too like going to hang in front of people's camera so they can't take decent photos.
I mean, why is this even necessary.
Because I was SO fed up with the idiots around me and didn't feel like telling off the little retards in vain yet again (because clearly they were refusing to see reason) or end up getting in a fight because they were getting crazier and crazier (and I wouldn't put it past them to throw a punch if someone told them STOP IT one time too many to their liking) I ended up going to sit on the floor with Marjan (who was also fed up) to watch the concert on the giant screen.
Of course the sound completely sucked already even that small to the stage, which isn't surprising considering they were using boxes that were far too small for the size of the venue.
Even Bert ended up joining us towards the end, because he got so fed up with the retard fangirls.
I'd never actually punch someone (they'd have to throw the first actual punch and I'd only defend myself then) but omg it was so tempting to just slap them in the hope they'd stop being so hysterical.
To be honest with all the pushing, shoving and bitchiness going on I'm surprised that no fight actually errupted!

In my honest opinion Made in Asia seriously did a lousy job, and to be fair their negligence was endangering a lot of people, plenty of them minors, by not even being present to ensure the safety at this event. I saw ONE girl with a volunteer t-shirt in the first row, who was clearly just another spectator. That's just not on. It's negligence.

ADAMS live at MiA6 - 15.3.2014

After the concert it was time to go home, because Bert was going to hang out with his brother later that night.
